I suffered from untreated bipolar disease from my teens until I was in my fifties. My alcoholism started rearing its ugly head at about twenty one and controlled me until I was close to forty. I'm doing this not because I'm book smart about these two diseases, but because I've been there. I know firsthand the frustration, the feelings of inadequacy, and the hopelessness that come from both alcoholism and bipolar disorder. I know about the highs of the manic episodes and the lows of the depression. I’ve been there, and I know that you cannot get better by yourself. It took professional help plus lots of sharing with people just like me. Again, this is the reason for this website. I plan to not only post stories about me, but bring you information from qualified sources and articles. I am getting ready to start a blog so that everyone that wants or needs to, can join in.
I do hope that you are able to get something from this experience. I know I will.
